Why Should You Live in the Countryside?
29-11-2024 Blog
In recent years, more people have been drawn to the idea of escaping the hustle and bustle of city life and giving into the peaceful lure of a countryside home. But what is it about countryside living that makes it so appealing? Here we’ve put together five reasons why you would enjoy a countryside home.
Community
Rural living often goes hand in hand with the charm of village life. In the countryside, where the population is more spread out, communities tend to be smaller, fostering deeper connections with neighbours. This close-knit environment encourages a strong sense of belonging, where support and camaraderie are a natural part of daily life.
Access To Nature
As well as having quieter roads, countryside homes also offer a closer connection to nature. Much like our Brenchley Fields development in Harrietsham, rural properties often allow you to enjoy nature just outside your front door. This immediate access comes hand in hand with several low cost/ free activity options too. You can start hiking, fishing, birdwatching, or even biking. Being close to nature has also been proven to improve your mental health and is great if you have pets that spend time outside.
Crime Rates
Although no place is 100% safe from crime, the countryside benefits from a less dense population. This means you’re less likely to be near crime to begin with. As a small developer, Clarendon often gravitate towards villages to build our developments, such as Bearsted which was recently crowned one of the safest places to live in Kent. These villages are usually on the rural fringes, allowing us to create beautiful countryside homes in the relative safety of the community.
Beautiful Views
Escaping the hustle and bustle of city and town life can be a refreshing, yet startling change. Owning a home in the countryside introduces you to both, along with a host of breath-taking views and natural beauty you may never have realized were waiting just beyond your doorstep.
Natural Beauty and Starry Skies
With little to no light pollution, countryside living offers stunning night skies: perfect for stargazing and enjoying the beauty of astrology. With the recent northern lights and meteor showers, the lure of rural space is becoming harder for enthusiast to fight. Countryside living places you in the heart of nature, with stunning landscapes, and wildlife right outside your door.
