Bearsted offers all you need in day-to-day life. Schools, grocery stores, pubs, restaurants, green spaces, sports clubs and more are all within walking distance of this beautiful village. A few highlights include The White Horse, The Oak on The Green, Bearsted Woodland Trust and Bearsted Golf Club.

Bearsted is within the county town of Kent; Maidstone. Maidstone town centre boasts an array of high-street shops and a large entertainment centre including an Odeon Luxe cinema, bowling alley and much more. There are several eateries and bars spread throughout Maidstone with an option for everyone. The idyllic Mote park is also nearby to Bearsted, which offers peaceful walks, water sports, a children’s park, and events throughout the year. Leeds Castle offers another Maidstone landmark which attracts more than half a million visitors each year.

Getting around

In terms of location, it’s hard to find a more convenient spot. Bearsted train station holds a direct route into London Victoria which makes it perfect for commuters. Bearsted is also a 5-minute drive from the M20, meaning it is very well connected to the rest of the country. There are also plenty of bus routes which can take you to Maidstone town centre and further afield in Kent.

For those who prefer walking to get from A to B, Bearsted is perfect, with everything you need being within a walking distance as well as plenty of idyllic walking routes. If you are a frequent flier, Bearsted is also a 45-minute drive from Gatwick Airport, making it perfect for holiday lovers too.

Local schools

There are a number of schools which cater for all ages in Bearsted and the surrounding areas. Within Bearsted, Thurnham C of E Infant School and Roseacre Junior School are both well respected schools which both received an Outstanding rating from Ofsted. There are other options a short distance from Bearsted too, such as Madginford Primary School and St John’s C of E Primary School, which received Good and Outstanding from Ofsted respectively.

There are many great performing secondary schools in Maidstone, which is a 30 minute walk or a 10 minute car/bus journey from Bearsted. These include Maidstone Grammar School, Invicta Grammar School and Valley Park School, which are all classed as either Good or Outstanding by Ofsted.
