Our Staff Tell Us Why They Love Working at Clarendon!

As Clarendon is celebrating becoming 20 years old, the staff tell us their thoughts on their time working for the company.
“I have worked for Clarendon Homes for over 8 years, after working at GPO/BT for 40 years so it was a bit of a change moving into the building industry. I really enjoy overseeing the properties from conception all the way to completion and I am proud of many of the homes we’ve designed and built. This job can be stressful when things are going wrong and sometimes even when they are going right but there is always someone who will help you or even better make you smile.
After 40 years with BT and 8 years with Clarendon I’ve decided to retire and spend more time with my Wife, Children and Grandchildren and maybe a little bit of golf and holidays. Although I will miss the job it will be the people I will miss the most as I have come to realise that it’s your colleagues who help you to enjoy your time at work and as far as I’m concerned, I’ve worked with some of the best people at both BT and Clarendon Homes. It’s been a pleasure working with everyone both in the office and on site.”

“I started working at Clarendon on site during school and university holidays – back then it was just a couple of guys on site but although it was hard work it was lots of fun working outdoors. I eventually migrated into the office and watched it grow from just two people to fifteen people which is great as there is a good buzz as well as a healthy working atmosphere. I love coming into the office and going on site to get the mick taken out of my pink shirt. Here’s to the next 20 years.”
