How To Prepare Your Home For Spring

Spring is finally springing, and it’s time to make your home feel like it! Here are some top tips for making your new home ready for the change in season…
1. Fresh flowers
Fill each room with fresh flowers. Whether you use bouquets of freshly cut wild flowers or some nice potted plants, it’s a great way to make your home feel brighter and fresher.
2. Do some painting
Splashes of colour on your furniture or walls can make your home feel more vibrant. Even a fresh coat of a neutral white can help your home feel airy and more spacious.
3. Let the air in
Freshen up your home by opening up your windows and doors when you’re there. It’s a great way to flush out old smells and make your home more summery. If you don’t find it quite warm enough yet, some flowery candles can do the trick for now (along with actual flowers).
4. De-clutter
In the winter, a bit of decorative clutter can make a home feel more cosy (especially a new build). However, in spring it’s often preferable to get rid of clutter from display areas and storage spaces to make your home feel larger.
5. Get your green thumb out
Nature will do a lot of work on its own but putting in a few hours at the weekend yourself can go a long way. Put down a little compost, trim what needs trimming and plant some tulips to add some colour to your garden. Cut and tidy the lawn, and maybe even consider starting a herb garden – it won’t take long for them to be ready for you to use in your own cooking!
